WHAT TO DO

THE SURF COAST WALK

The largest town along the 44km Surfcoast Walk, Torquay is an ideal starting point to complete one of Australia's best walks. Following the coastline along the headland and through nature reserves, the trail makes stops at Australia's home of surfing Bells Beach, and popular small towns Anglesea and Aireys Inlet. Grab a bike, complete the trail or tackle a small section during your stay.

BEACHES

With an abundance of beaches suited to all kinds of travellers - surfers, sunbathers and dog lovers alike, you will be sure to find a spot to set up for the day. If the best breaks are what you are seeking head to Jan Juc or Bells Beach. Looking for a sun-filled spot to unwind with a book, pull up a towel at Torquay Main Beach. Or, if you want to spend the day with your dog, stop by Whites Beach for a stroll and a quick dip.

RELAXATION - ABOUT TIME BATHHOUSE

Looking for luxury and relaxation during your stay, then Torquay's newest wellness offering, About Time Bathhouse is the place to rejuvenate for the afternoon. Offering a bath and body experience, About Time invites you to slow down and care for yourself. Book yourself into the bathhouse, fit with magnesium pools, cold plunges and saunas, or find some time for a facial, massage or LED treatment.

WHAT TO EAT AND DRINK

MORTADELI

Open from morning to night, Mortadeli is a must-visit during any Torquay stay. Focused on seasonal produce and with a nod to all things Mediterranean, stop in post your morning walk for a coffee and sandwich or book yourself in for an evening of wine and fresh homemade pasta.

THE KYN

Overlooking Torquay's esplanade, The Kyn is one of the best spots to enjoy lunch, dinner or an evening cocktail. Beautifully fit out to evoke the notion of lazy afternoons and sandy beach days. The Middle-eastern-inspired menu showcases fresh and local produce designed to be shared with your friends and family.

FISHOS

We couldn't write a guide about an Australian beach town, without shouting out the best place for fish and chips. An institution in Torquay, Fisho's, is only a short walk from the main beach, offering fresh, locally sourced seafood. Grab your favourites before heading across the road for a picnic, or pull up a table outside and enjoy your meal accompanied by local craft beer.

WHERE TO STAY

RACV TORQUAY RESORT

Nestled between Torquay and Jan Jac, RACV features everything you could want in a 5-star resort, including a day spa, golf course, tennis court and pool. With views over the golf course and surrounding headlands, this is the best spot if you are looking for resort luxury.

THE WENSLEY

A bit further afield, about 30 minutes from Torquay, is the Wensley, an architecturally designed family home perfect for those seeking a secluded stay. A haven of peace and serenity, set on 80 acres of farmland, the luxury home can cater for up to 10 guests across 5 bedrooms.
